Nestled in the heart of the majestic High Peaks Region of the Adirondack Mountains, the Hotel Saranac extends a sense of real Adirondack hospitality 77 years in the making. Located in Saranac Lake (ranked the Number One Small Town in New York and 11th best small town in the US) the Hotel features many of the amenities of a metropolitan hotel in the serenity and seclusion of the mountains. Included in these amenities are A.P. Smith's for fine dining, the Boathouse Tavern, Paul Smith's Gift Shop (the largest hotel gift shop in the Adirondacks), 88 guest rooms, and Lydia Martin Smith's Grand Hall . Situated in the activity hub of Saranac Lake and only 9 miles from Lake Placid with its Olympic Training facilities and home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Games, the Hotel Saranac is convenient to shopping, arts, and many four season sports venues and outdoor activities.

Opened in 1927, the Hotel contrasts with the many camps, cabins and small motels found throughout the region similarly to when it was first built as the "only fire proof hotel in Upstate New York." Recalling a style and glamour of another era, the Hotel's stunning Grand Hall on the second floor epitomizes grace and warmth.

Owned by Paul Smith's College from 1961 to early 2007, the Hotel Saranac has been an experiential learning facility teaching the fundamentals of quality service. Professional staff work side by side with the students of Paul Smith's, ensuring that all your needs and expectations are met.  Currently the Hotel is independently owned and operated by a family of hoteliers.
