Before there were roads through these mountains, there was the guideboat.
Hotel Saranac is proud to host the Historic Adirondack Guideboat Museum in our Grand Ballroom during the week of the Hanmer Guideboat Race. Born on these very shores in the 1840s, the Adirondack guideboat was the original vehicle of the wilderness, light enough to shoulder, fast enough to cover miles of wild water in a day. This week, that living history comes inside our walls.
Cap the week on Thursday, July 3, as the Hanmer Guideboat Race takes to Lake Flower and the Saranac River. This is the kind of experience you cannot find anywhere else.
Open Daily, June 29 – July 3 | Through 8 p.m.
Spectator admission is free. Make a weekend of it.
