In celebration of Winter Carnival 2023's theme "Roman Around Carnival", the Hotel Saranac will be hosting a Bacchanalian! Named after Bacchus, the Roman god of wine and revelry, these feasts of classical Rome were known to be wildly drunken affairs. The Romans celebrated Bacchus with wine, songs, dances, and more... therefore so shall we!
The festivities will take place on Wednesday, February 8th in the Great Hall & Ballroom of the Hotel Saranac. Registration and cocktail hour will begin at 6pm...and the party will rage on till 10pm!
This is a 21+ Event. Guests will be ID'ed at the door Tickets are $145 per person, with $20 of each ticket being donated to the Saranac Lake Interfaith Food Pantry.
Tickets include everything described below:
- Free flowing Italian wine, beer, and a local mead for all 4 hours (Non-alcoholic beverages, coffee, and tea are also included)
- The evening begins with a social hour in our Great Hall 6-7pm. During this time, there will be passed Hor D'oeuvres, a grand cheese & charcuterie grazing table, plus additional food displays.
- At 7pm, guests will be invited into the ballroom for dinner, where we will dine at long decorative banquet style tables in true feast fashion. Once everyone is seated, there will be a ceremonial presentation and cutting of the whole roast pig donated by Kate Mountain Farm. From there, everyone is welcome to indulge in our buffet feast.
- The Ancient Rome themed dinner menu is subject to change but will include: Roast pig, turkey, fish, pasta, ancient grain dishes, and vegetable sides
- After dinner, the grazing table will evolve into a lavish spread of desserts; in addition to cheese, fruits, pastries, etc. The festivities will continue of course, wine still flowing until 10pm.
- Live music all night
- Roman-inspired strings 6-8pm - TBD band 8-10pm
***Costume Competition: Ancient Rome-inspired dress is encouraged, and our panel of judges will be crowning the "best dressed" at 9pm. The winner will received a gift certificate for a one night stay at the Hotel Saranac.***
